Salinas Maceió

Recife e Olinda

Recife e Olinda | Beaches | Salinas Maragogi

As you may already know, Maragogi is exactly halfway between Recife and Maceió. About 175 km away from them, Maragogi can serve as a point of support to visit two of the most beautiful capitals in the Northeast.

Close to Recife is Olinda, a city famous for its Street Carnival, celebrated among slopes and historical buildings, dating from Colonial times. A World Heritage Site, Olinda is one of the best preserved colonial towns in Brazil, as well as the Brazilian Capital of Culture.

The natural beauty of the area was the reason for its name. The name Olinda (“linda” means “beautiful” in Portuguese) derives from the phrase “Oh, beautiful situation to build a village!” said by the first donor of the Captaincy of Pernambuco as he visited the site.

Recife, capital of Pernambuco, on the other hand, is famous for its urban beaches, such as Boa Viagem Beach, for the rivers throughout the city (that’s why it’s nicknamed “Brazil’s Venice”) and for its Dutch architecture, dating back to the 17
th century.

Here at Salinas do Maragogi, you can book a tour to Recife and Olinda, departing directly from the resort to visit all the attractions in these sister cities with all the comfort and security.
